Salisbury Steak Sauce

Sauce Fanatic

1 tablespoon unsalted butter ½ large onion, thinly sliced 2 cups beef stock 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon ketchup 1 teaspoon browning and seasoning sauce pinch of salt ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper 1 tablespoon cornstarch 2 tablespoons cold water

Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring frequently until brown and tender, about 6 minutes.

Add the beef stock, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer. Add the Worcestershire, ketchup, and browning sauce. Whisk to combine. Add salt and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired.

In a small bowl, whisk the cornstarch with water. Pour it into the gravy and whisk to combine. Cook stirring frequently until the gravy thickens. Serve over Salisbury steaks.

Enjoy!
