roast drippings from cooked pot roast
or beef stock

Pour the roast drippings through a fine mesh sieve to remove any solids.
Transfer the drippings to a skillet and add the flour, salt, and pepper.
Bring the gravy to a boil, frequently stirring until it thickens.
Remove from the heat and serve while warm.
