We first tried salsa verde guacamole from Publix not long ago. It was so delicious, we knew we had to make our own version. You get more for your money that way, and you know that’s a plus in this economy.
You can whip this guacamole up in just 5 minutes, depending on your veggie-chopping skills! This dip is an absolute must for all your snacking needs. With a hint of spice from the jalapeño, a zesty kick from lime, and the vibrant flavors of fresh cilantro, onion, and garlic, it’s packed with taste in every bite.
The perfect mix of heat from the salsa verde and jalapeño, along with the creamy avocado, makes this guac a total flavor explosion. Whether you’re pairing it with chips or tacos, it’s sure to be a hit!
Ingredients

- Avocado: We like to use 2 medium avocados. Make sure they are ripe, so they are soft enough to mash.
- Lime juice: For the best flavor, use freshly squeezed lime juice.
- Salsa verde: You can use any store-bought brand or make homemade salsa verde.
- Salt: Adjust this to your own personal taste.
- Onion: We prefer to use yellow onion, but red or white onion will also work for guacamole.
- Jalapeno: We only use 1 jalapeno because we don’t like it too spicy, but you can add more for a spicier dip. We also prefer to remove the seeds and ribs.
- Garlic: Please use fresh garlic. It is far superior to jarred garlic.
- Cilantro: You can omit this if you are not a fan. I know some people think it tastes like soap.

Tips For Success
- For a creamier salsa, you can toss all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
- It is best to enjoy the guacamole right away because it will eventually turn brown.
- The lime juice and salsa verde in the recipe will help prevent the guacamole from turning brown!
- If you have leftovers, cover with plastic wrap, touching the top of the dip, to help prevent it from browning.
- This recipe is not spicy! If you want spice, leave the ribs in the jalapeno or add extra jalapeno to turn up the heat.
- Make sure to finely chop or mince the onion, jalapeno, cilantro, and garlic.
