I absolutely love pasta with tomato sauce, but let’s be real, it can be pretty time-consuming to make the sauce from scratch. It takes time for flavors to develop.

So, I’ve been on the lookout for a quick and easy sauce recipe that’s perfect for weeknight dinners. I stumbled upon a pan-roasted tomato sauce recipe and decided to give it a try.

I found it to be a great stress reliever! You dice up the tomatoes and add some onion and garlic cloves, along with butter and salt, and let it simmer on the stovetop. Sounds like a win to me!

If you’re looking for a delicious sauce that won’t consume your whole day, this might just be the perfect fit.

  • We prefer to use canned tomatoes for this recipe, so it can be made year-round with the best-tasting tomatoes.
  • You can smash the garlic into the sauce if you want more of that pungent garlic flavor.
  • You can also puree the sauce with the garlic and onion if you simply don’t want to waste anything.
