Today’s easy crab cake sauce is very similar to our remoulade sauce. However, it’s much simpler and contains only four ingredients.

The sauce is more like an aioli with authentic Maryland flavors of Old Bay seasoning. It pairs well with any seafood but we prefer it over crab cakes. However, you may like it best with po’ boys, fried soft-shell crab, fried shrimp, crawfish, or calamari.

Why This Recipe Works

  • Mayo works as the perfect base that yields a smooth and creamy sauce.
  • Old Bay seasoning is the star and main flavor of the sauce. It uses traditional flavors.

  • Mayonnaise: This is the base of the sauce.
  • Old Bay Seasoning: Used for flavoring. We used ½ teaspoon. Any more than that and the sauce becomes too salty.
  • Lemon juice: Fresh lemon juice will taste the best.
  • Worcestershire sauce: Just a dash is used for a little extra flavor.

Tips For Success

  • Don’t add too much Old Bay. It is quite salty and using too much will make the sauce inedible. Start with ½ teaspoon that the recipe calls for and add a little more if needed.
  • If you have the time, let the sauce chill for 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the sauce will taste the best.
